Design 1826 Katama

This aluminum yawl was built by Robert E. Derecktor of Mamaroneck, New York. She was launched in 1965. She is a further development of the type including yachts Inverness, Carillon and Duster. The rudder has been pushed well aft for an attached rudder, to improve downwind steering and control. The interior layout is fairly conventional but a lot of thought went into the details based on the owners experience with his previous Katama.

Here are the plans.

Principal Dimensions
LOA 42-6"
LWL 29-0"
Beam 10-10"
Draft 6-3"
Displacement 19,273 lbs
Ballast 8,300 lbs
Sail Area 810 sq ft
